BRAND STORY

ESTABLISHED IN 2003,
KANCAN’S BRAND NAME WAS INSPIRED BY THE CANCAN DANCE.
THE CANCAN IS A HIGH-ENERGY, PHYSICALLY DEMANDING DANCE WHICH BECAME A POPULAR MUSIC HALL DANCE IN THE 1840S. WE CHOSE THE NAME TO REFLECT AND CAPTURE THE SENSE OF POSITIVITY AND HIGH-ENERGY EMITTED FROM THE DANCE. WE WANT PEOPLE TO NOT ONLY FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THE FIT, BUT TO ALSO FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH A WIDE RANGE OF MOVEMENT AS THEY LIVE THEIR DAILY LIFE. WE LOVE JEANS AND WE WANTED TO CREATE A LINE THAT COULD BE ENJOYED BY ALL BODY TYPES WHILE ALSO ALLOWING WEARERS TO DO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING INCLUDING DANCING THE CANCAN. WE ARE GRATEFUL TO HAVE ACCOMPLISHED BOTH GOALS AND TO HAVE GAINED MUCH APPRECIATION FROM CUSTOMERS WHO LOVE KANCAN AND CANNOT BELIEVE THEY FINALLY OWN A PAIR OF JEANS THAT ARE NOT ONLY FASHIONABLE, BUT ALSO FIT ALL OF THEIR CURVES WHILE BEING STRETCHY AND SUPER COMFORTABLE.

OUR COMPANY CULTURE IS CENTERED UPON THE GROWTH AND CREATIVITY OF ITS WORKERS. WE VALUE THE WELLBEING OF OUR STAFF AND WORK TO SUSTAIN AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE EACH EMPLOYEE CAN THRIVE AND POTENTIALLY WORK AND LEARN FOR LIFE. BIO OF KEY PERSONS

OUR BRAND STARTED IN 2003 FROM THE HUMBLE DREAMS OF A PASSIONATE IMMIGRANT WHO ASPIRED TO SHARE HIS LOVE OF DENIM WITH THE WORLD. LIKE MANY OTHERS, MR. SONG, OUR PRESIDENT, MAJORED IN CLOTHING AND TEXTILE AND WAS A SEASONED INNOVATOR FOR WELL-KNOWN CLOTHING BRANDS (KOREA’S GUESS AND PERRY ELLIS) BEFORE HE EMBARKED ON HIS DREAM OF ESTABLISHING A DENIM BRAND. HE AND THE CHIEF DESIGNER GAIN MUCH OF THEIR INSPIRATION FROM DAILY LIFE AND AS SUCH OUR BRAND REFLECTS THE EVERYDAY LIFE AND CAN FIT INTO ANY LIFESTYLE. MR. SONG IN PARTICULAR HAS A PASSION FOR TRAVEL AND ENJOYS BEING A PATHFINDER AND FRONTIERSMEN IN EUROPE, WHICH IS THE SOURCE OF MUCH OF HIS INSPIRATION.

ON THE OTHER HAND, AS A GRADUATE OF FIDM, OUR CHIEF DESIGNER GAINS MUCH OF HIS INSPIRATION WATCHING OTHER CREATIVE PEOPLE IN THE FASHION WORLD. HE VALUES THE INSIGHT THAT ONE CAN GAIN FROM CONSISTENT PRACTICE AND UNABASHED EXPERIMENTATION. FURTHERMORE, HE BELIEVES THAT INSPIRATION CAN COME FROM ANYTHING AND ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME WHICH IS WHY LOVES OBSERVING PEOPLE AND HOW THEY DRESS.
ALTHOUGH THE SAYING GOES THAT "YOU CAN’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER," WE BELIEVE OUR CHIEF DESIGNER SUMS IT UP WELL WHEN HE SAYS "YOU WILL ALWAYS BE JUDGED BY HOW YOU DRESS."
